What is EBOO?
EBOO stands for extracorporeal blood oxygenation and ozonation. Extracorporeal simply means outside the body. It is the high-dose form of ozone therapy, and the setup is closer to dialysis than to a standard IV.
Two IVs are placed. Blood is drawn out through one line and passes through an external device, where it is filtered and exposed to medical-grade ozone, then returns to you through the other line. Because your blood circulates through the device for the whole session, far more of it is treated than in a standard ozone treatment, which works with a single measured draw. EBOO is an integrative treatment. It is not FDA-approved to treat Lyme disease, mold illness, long COVID, chronic fatigue or any other specific condition, and we do not promise a particular result. Results vary from person to person.
Because EBOO uses two IV lines and an external circuit, it is more involved than standard ozone, and it is not appropriate for everyone. Some conditions, such as G6PD deficiency and pregnancy, rule ozone out, and certain medications and health histories call for caution. Your provider reviews all of this at your consultation and will tell you if standard ozone, or a different approach altogether, is the better starting point.
